Unlike the techniques and dyestuff used in the ancient imported dyed works preserved in the Shosoin Repository, HanaNori-Koboshi Paste Dyeing uses dry .paste This technique, not seen elsewhere in the world, matches today's urban
world and is the technique for the future.
Until the end of Edo Period, Japan employed the rice standard system and ricemeans something special to Japanese people. This dye technique is only possible with rice paste.

“華のりこぼし”は正倉院に見られる渡来した他の染色と異なり、乾いた糊を用いる世界に例の無い染色で、現代都市空間に調和した未来への染色です
江戸末期まで日本では米本位制でしたので、日本人にとって米とは特別のもので、この染めも米糊でしか作る事が出来ないものです。
